About the Financial Award
The Mdm Tan Gim Tee (Mrs Aw Kim Swee) Scholarship, established in 2006, is made possible by Mr Mick Aw and Ms Doris Cheok.
This scholarship is available to full-time undergraduates from the School of Accountancy at Singapore Management University. The objective of the scholarship is to assist and spur the undergraduates, with demonstrated financial need, to achieve excellence in their studies.
Eligibility Criteria
- Full-time undergraduates at the School of Accountancy proceeding to second/third year of study
- Singapore citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident
- Good academic achievements (minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00)
- Demonstrate active involvement in co-curricular activities and community service pursuits
- Demonstrate leadership potential and a good sense of citizenship within SOA or the broader SMU community
- Possess interest to pursue a career in public accounting
- With demonstrated financial need
Benefits
- $10,000 per annum (towards subsidised tuition fees and/ or study-related expenses)
- Tenable one year of study
- Singaporean students may apply for government bursary for cash allowance, subject to fulfilment of its eligibility criteria
- The recipient may be considered for the Moore Stephens Scholarship in subsequent years, subject to meeting the eligibility criteria
Learning and Development Opportunities
- The recipient is required to complete a minimum 10-week internship with Moore Stephens LLP Singapore
- An outstanding recipient with an interest in public accounting may be offered career opportunities on graduation with Moore Stephens LLP Singapore

About the Donor
The Mdm Tan Gim Tee (Mrs Aw Kim Swee) Scholarship is set up by Mr Mick Aw and Ms Doris Cheok, in honour of Mdm Tan Gim Tee (Mrs Aw Kim Swee). Mr Mick Aw, the Managing Partner of Moore Stephens LLP Singapore, is a strong supporter of SMU, also initiated the Moore Stephens Scholarship.
