About The Scholarship

Established in 2016 and one of the initiatives of the Shirin Fozdar Programme (SFP), the Scholarship is available to full-time female undergraduates at the Singapore Management University. The objective of the Scholarship is to recognise outstanding female undergraduates of foreign nationalities and to support them in their education at the University.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Full-time foreign female incoming freshmen undertaking any degree programme
  • Demonstrated financial need (not exceeding the gross monthly household per capita income in accordance with the prevailing income level for university-funded bursaries)
  • Good academic results (minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00)
  • Demonstrated leadership potential
  • Active in CCA and/or community service involvement 

Shortlisted applicants will be required to submit a written statement and a 1-minute video clip on why she should be awarded the scholarship.

Benefits

  • Each scholarship is valued at $60,000 ($15,000 per academic year towards annual subsidised tuition fees).  The recipient may be in concurrent receipt of a bursary for cash allowance, subject to fulfillment of its eligibility criteria.
  • Each scholarship is tenable for up to 4 years of the recipient’s academic studies, subject to continued observance of the eligibility criteria.
  • There is no bond associated with the scholarship.

In the spirit of SFP, the recipients are required to be actively involved in one SFP event every year and to submit a one-minute video every year to share their journey with SFP’s support and their resolution for the year to come.

Application Information

If you would like to be considered for this scholarship, please indicate your interest in the Scholarship section of the online application form for admission. There is no separate scholarship application form. 

Special consideration for this scholarship will be given to applicants with demonstrated financial needs. Applicants must also submit a separate financial aid application. This can be done via Applicant’s Self Service, after submitting the online application for admission. Prospective applicants may submit their financial aid application when it opens for its annual exercise from 1 January to 31 May.
