About the Financial Award
Established in 2009, the Sing Lun Scholarship is funded from the proceeds of endowed contributions by Mr Patrick Lee and family. The contributions were made in honour of the late Mr Lee Chee Hung who founded Sing Lun as well as to further educational causes.
The scholarship aims to recognise academic excellence and provide financial support for full-time financially needy undergraduates studying at the Singapore Management University.
Eligibility Criteria
- Full-time undergraduates enrolled in any degree programme
- Singapore Citizens
- Good academic results (minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00)
- Preference will be given to students with excellent community service records
- With demonstrated financial needs
Benefits
- Freshman – Tenable for up to 4 years of the recipient’s academic studies, subject to continued observance of the eligibility criteria and the terms and conditions of award.
- Current Student – Tenable for one year of the recipient’s academic studies.
- Valued at $15,000 per annum
- The scholarship will be used to pay the recipient’s school fees and/or study-related expenses.
- The recipients are expected to attend at least one donor organised event and participate in one of the donor’s community projects annually during the award tenure.

Prospective Students
This scholarship is only available for freshmen in AY2024.
If you would like to be considered for this scholarship, please indicate your interest in the Scholarship section of the online application form for admission. There is no separate scholarship application form.
Special consideration for this scholarship will be given to applicants with demonstrated financial needs. Applicants must also submit a separate financial aid application. This can be done via Applicant’s Self Service, after submitting the online application for admission. Prospective applicants may submit their financial aid application when it opens for its annual exercise from 1 January to 31 May.

About the Donor
The Sing Lun Scholarship is supported by Mr Patrick Lee and family. Contributed at a time of economic uncertainty, the generous gift by Mr Lee and members of the Lee is a gesture to inspire philanthropy and foster a culture of social responsibility to see beyond their own needs and to give back to society and the community.
Sing Lun was originally founded in 1951 as a textile trading and wholesale company. In 1969, the company expanded into apparel manufacturing. Since then, the company has grown to be a renowned apparel contract manufacturer for international brands and retailers. The company now possesses production facilities in Singapore, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Vietnam and China. Besides the apparel business, Sing Lun also invests in real estate, hotels and engineering businesses in Singapore, Malaysia, USA and China.
