About The Scholarship

The objective of the Scholarship is to motivate and recognise outstanding Singapore Citizen undergraduates at SMU who have demonstrated financial need.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicant must:

  • Offered admission to or enrolled in the four-year Bachelor of Laws programme at SMU
  • Singapore Citizen
  • Demonstrated financial need
  • Possess good academic achievements and have performed well during the University’s admissions tests and interviews.
  • Co-curricular activity records and community service pursuits may be taken into consideration.
  • If there are two or more candidates of equal merit, priority will be given to the candidate with greater financial need.

Benefits

  • The Scholarship will fund the recipient’s annual subsidised tuition fee and an additional $10,000 towards living expenses per annum
  • The Scholarship is tenable for up to 4 years of the recipient’s academic studies, subject to continued observance of the eligibility criteria and the terms and conditions of award
  • The recipient will be offered an internship opportunity with the Donor, to participate in the Donor’s working committees chaired by esteemed members of the Judiciary, as well as the opportunity to meet and interact with leading practitioners and contribute to key developments.

Conditions of Award

The Recipient must not hold any other awards of similar nature during the tenure of the Award, except with the prior written approval of the University

  • If you want to be considered for this scholarship, indicate your interest in the Scholarship section of the online admission application. No separate scholarship form is needed
  • Special consideration is given to applicants with financial needs. After you have submitted your admission application. You are required to submit a separate bursary application form via the Applicant’s Self Service from 1 January 1 to 31 May
