About the Donor

Professor Lim Kian Guan, SMU’s Vice Provost (Undergraduate Matters) initiated the SMU ASEAN Exposure Grants in 2017 with the vision to motivate and inspire all SMU undergraduates to pursue an overseas experience, particularly in the region.  Prof Lim recognizes the increasing importance for our students to know ASEAN economies and businesses, and appreciate the different cultures in order to build their knowledge and acquire real-life problem-solving skills.  Prof Lim’s gift will empower students with financial challenges through wider access to exposure in the ASEAN countries and learning beyond the classroom.
