About the Financial Award

Established in 2024, the Scholarship is available to financially needy full-time Singaporean undergraduates at SMU. The SMU Hearts of Hope Scholarship not only provides financial aid but also fosters a spirit of giving and empathy

Eligibility Criteria

  • Singapore Citizen.
  • Full-time incoming freshman
  • Good academic results (minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00) 
  • Demonstrated leadership and communication skills, with CCA and/or community service involvement.
  • Demonstrated financial need in line with MOE’s prevailing criteria (may be periodically revised).
     

Benefits

  • $12,700 per annum for Law students and $11,500 per annum for non-Law students (towards subsidised tuition fees and study-related expenses)
  • Tenable for up to 4 years of the recipient’s academic studies, subject to continued observance of the eligibility criteria and the terms and conditions of award.
  • The recipients may apply for government bursary, subject to fulfilment of its eligibility criteria.

  • If you want to be considered for this scholarship, indicate your interest in the Scholarship section of the online admission application. No separate scholarship form is needed
  • Special consideration is given to applicants with financial needs. After you have submitted your admission application. You are required to submit a separate bursary application form via the Applicant’s Self Service from 1 January 1 to 31 May
