“Aside from academic development, SMU prioritises overseas exposure, student leadership, strong support for internships and career development, an impressive line of opportunities for young entrepreneurs, and innovative ways to develop a sense of community service.”

The highlight of your student life at SMU so far.

It would be my Vice Presidency and Team Presidency at SMUX Skating in my first and second year respectively. I have grown a lot from the two and a half years I helped to lead the Skating Team by managing an array of stakeholders, including my team, the SMUX Management Committee, the school officers and the wider skating community.

Have you had any international experiences at SMU so far?

I have not yet had international experiences but am planning a line-up of them!

I am enrolled in the Global Asia Study Mission in May 2023, estimated to be an 11-day programme focussing on sustainable tourism in Bali. The course partners with Earth Company with the aim of educating students on sustainable social entrepreneurship. I have always had an interest in how social entrepreneurs meet a triple bottom line and am keen to learn their problem-solving approach, especially for huge issues such as the climate crisis. I am also planning to go for my International Student Exchange Programme in August 2023, hopefully at a partner university in Spain!

What is your favourite spot on campus?

The CIS/SOSS lounge!

What is your favourite food to get on campus?

Khoon Coffeehouse at SOE/SCIS2 has the best butterscotch coffee, and the Koufu mala is my comfort food!
