"SMU has transformed me into a more confident, proactive, and adaptable individual, equipping me with the skills to navigate both academic and professional challenges. The university’s emphasis on interactive learning, leadership opportunities, and real-world experiences has broadened my perspectives and prepared me to thrive in dynamic environments."

Please share a key highlight of your student life in SMU.

A key highlight was my involvement with Ellipsis, a student body where I served as an Event Executive. This role was incredibly fulfilling, as it gave me the opportunity to plan and organize events for my peers. Seeing people from my school come together, have fun, and enjoy the events we meticulously planned was immensely rewarding. It was not just about event planning; it was about creating memorable experiences and contributing to a vibrant campus culture. This experience taught me the value of teamwork, leadership, and the joy of bringing people together, making it a significant and meaningful part of my time at SMU.

Please share more about your internship experience.

Thus far, I have done three internships: business analyst intern at Accenture, consulting intern at AAIC and digital controls intern at Deloitte. I chose these companies because they aligned with my interest in technology, consulting, and business strategy, offering me the chance to gain hands-on experience in diverse roles that matched my career aspirations.

At Deloitte, a key highlight was developing and implementing User Management applications using a variety of SAP tools, which honed my technical skills in agile methodologies and automation testing. At Asia Africa Investing & Consulting, creating a pitch deck for a client conference on agriculture and sales support startups was particularly rewarding as it allowed me to apply strategic analysis and present insights directly to stakeholders. During my time at Accenture, a standout moment was contributing to a nationwide digital transformation project, where I expanded my skills in test execution and web development, playing multiple roles within the scrum team.

A fun fact about SMU:

There are many spots to sleep and rest in between classes, such as the IS lounge and even the library!
