“The seminar-style learning at SMU encourages students to actively participate in class discussions. Overall, my current communication and presentation skillset at work was very much ingrained into me since my SMU days.”

Why did you choose to pursue your degree at SMU back then?

I already had a place at another university when I was considering SMU. Looking back, I was at a crossroads then and really looking forward to a unique and different proposition. I felt that the SMU pedagogy was indeed one that could better prepare me for the future workforce. It took a lot of convincing then to give up an already secured university placement to pursue one with SMU, but my gamble paid off!

What is one key lesson you learned at SMU that is still relevant to you today?

Networking & community! Truly as one progresses in our personal and professional lives, nothing beats having a strong network of community to help you along the way. A lot of where I am today was due to the kind and helpful seniors from the alumni network! I am nothing without a village of support around me.

What is your fondest memory of your time at SMU?

Being part of The SMU Ambassadorial Corps (ASMU)! My best friends and memories were made through the many fond ASMU experiences I shared with my fellow ambassadors. These are the same people that I meet up with for major life events such as Christmas and New Year. They are the people for life!
