“I loved the location of SMU as it was right at the centre of everything. I usually get bored very easily but being at SMU did not bore me at all because I could walk to a nice café to eat something tasty or just enjoy the city view to recharge for the day.”

How has SMU transformed you and equipped you with the skillet to thrive in your current career?

I believe that SMU’s seminar-style classes and interdisciplinary curriculum have equipped me with strong communication and critical thinking skills, which were very beneficial for my job application.

Could you share more about your current job?

I am currently working at United Nations Development Programme in a project team called "Promoting gender equality in public decision-making and women's empowerment in Mongolia". I am mainly involved in contributing to the smooth progress of our project's six outputs, which include strengthening the legal environment, strengthening support networks for women aspirant candidates, expanding the profile and number of women eligible for public decision-making, and improving gender awareness among voters, political parties, and the media.

Any advice for international students who are considering SMU?

Studying at SMU will definitely be filled with new experiences. Do keep an open mind and do not hesitate to contribute to class discussions. Speaking out in class not only benefits you but also enriches the learning experience of other students.
