About the Financial Award

The Lin Foundation Scholarship was established to support full-time undergraduates at the Singapore Management University, with demonstrated financial needs, to embark on an overseas exchange programme with one of the University's partner universities, in order to allow them to have a more well-rounded worldview.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Full-time undergraduates enrolled in any degree programme
  • Singapore Citizens
  • Participating in international student exchange programmes with SMU partner universities
  • Good academic results (minimum cumulative GPA 3.00)
  • Demonstrated evidence of gross monthly household per capita income in accordance with prevailing guidelines to qualify for government bursaries [Priority will be given to students with verified per capita income (PCI) and/or Gross Household Income (GHI)]

Benefits

  • Valued at S$13,333 (towards exchange expenses including air tickets, accommodation, living expenses, visa, insurance, health check-ups/vaccines, and/or study-related expenses)
  • Tenable for the recipient’s one semester of study overseas with an SMU partner university

Conditions of Award

  • The Recipient must submit a bursary application to validate their household income
  • The Recipient must not hold any other awards of similar nature during the tenure of the Award, except with the prior written approval of the University

Application Process

Applications will be invited through Centre for Global Education and Opportunities' call for exchange applications:

  • February to March (Fall exchange application)
  • July to August (Spring exchange application)

About the Donor

The Lin Foundation Scholarship was established to make overseas exchange programmes a reality for SMU students with demonstrated financial need.  In line with the University's position that international educational opportunities significantly enrich the academic experiences of students, this scholarship exists to ensure that all motivated undergraduates can reap the benefits of such experiences.
