I have applied for a bursary as well as Tuition Fee Loan (TFL). Will the bursary be used to offset against the balance fees not covered by the Tuition Fee Loan?

The bursary and Tuition Fee Loan (TFL) work together to cover your tuition fees. The bursary will be applied first to offset your tuition fees, reducing the amount payable. Any remaining balance after the bursary is covered by your Tuition Fee Loan.

How do I apply for scholarships?

Prospective students should indicate their interest in the scholarship section of the admission application. No separate application is required.

Current students can apply for scholarships via OASIS > All Apps > Financial Aid Application in January every year.

How do I apply for financial assistance to fund my tuition fee if the banks I approached to enquire about loan financing for my tuition fees informed me that they do not offer MOE Tuition Fee Loans to SMU students?

MOE Tuition Fee Loan (TFL) applications are to be submitted to OCBC Bank.

Please note that it is compulsory to indicate your SMU Student ID (e.g. 01234567) in the TFL application form, or your application will be rejected by the bank. Prospective students should apply for the TFL only after they have received their SMU Student ID/Card. Those who have not collected their SMU Student ID/Card may provide a copy of the Enrolment Status Letter as proof of admission, which can be requested via OASIS > Home > Finance & Admin > Certifications & Personal Info > Enrolment Letter & Academic Summary.

For MOE Study Loan (SL) applications, you can apply via your student portal OASIS > All Apps > Financial Aid Application or > Finance & Admin > Fee Matters & Financial Assistance Schemes > Schemes & Obligations > Apply for Finance Aid (located at the end of the page).
