About the Financial Award

The ABS Study Award is made possible by The Association of Banks in Singapore. The objective of the award is to assist financially needy undergraduates at the Singapore Management University to achieve academic excellence. 

Eligibility Criteria

  • Full-time Singaporean undergraduates from Lee Kong Chian School of Business, School of Economics, School of Accountancy, School of Computing and Information Systems and Yong Pung How School of Law
  • Preferably pursuing a course of study relevant to the banking sector
  • Good academic achievements
  • Demonstrated excellence in areas of student life and community involvement
  • With gross monthly household per capita income not exceeding $1,900

Tenure and Benefits

  • $8,040 (towards subsidised tuition fee)
  • Tenable for one year of study
  • May be in concurrent receipt of another bursary for cash allowance, subject to fulfilment of its eligibility criteria.
  • The recipient may be offered internship opportunities with The Association of Banks in Singapore

Application

Shortlisting of candidates for consideration will be from the list of applicants applying for SMU-administered bursaries in the year of award.

The Association of Banks in Singapore (ABS) is a non-profit organisation that represents the interests of the commercial and investment banking community.  As at 30 April 2015, ABS’ membership comprises 158 local and foreign banks/institutions and representative offices operating in Singapore.
