About the Financial Award

Established in 2018, the Chia Chee Seng Bursary is available to full-time Singaporean undergraduates from the School of Social Sciences at the Singapore Management University.   It is aimed at providing financial assistance to deserving undergraduates so with the objective to motivate them to achieve all-round excellence in their studies.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Full-time Singaporean undergraduates from the School of Social Sciences
  • Proceeding to year 3 of study in the year of award
  • Good academic achievements
  • With demonstrated financial needs (with gross monthly household income not exceeding the prevailing income tiers to qualify for government bursaries)
  • Preference for students with active CCA or community involvement with proven leadership qualities

Benefits

  • $8,000 per year (towards subsidised tuition fee)
  • Tenable for 2 years of study
  • May be in concurrent receipt of another bursary for cash allowance, subject to fulfilment of its eligibility criteria.

Application

Shortlisting of candidates for consideration will be from the list of applicants applying for SMU-administered bursaries in the year of award.

The Chia Chee Seng Bursary is made possible by Mr Chia Chee Seng, CEO, Diethelm Keller Aviation Pte Ltd, to empower Singaporean undergraduates to fulfil their dreams in pursuing a high quality education at the Singapore Management University without any financial constraints.  With the bursary award, Mr Chia hopes to inspire them to achieve outstanding academic results while maintaining good records in co-curricular activities and community service involvement.

A veteran in the aviation sector, Mr Chia is a strong proponent of creating a culture of continuous learning and improvement for his employees’ career and personal growth.
