About the Donor

The GSR16 Study Award was established by an anonymous donor from the pioneering batch of SMU graduates, who had experienced a memorable time at university, spending many hours with friends studying on the old Bukit Timah campus. This Study Award is thus named after the donor’s favourite classroom.

With a successful career in the private equity industry today, the donor thus desires to provide students with the chance of a quality education. By establishing the GSR16 Study Award, the hope is that no student facing financial difficulty should be denied the opportunity to educate themselves and create an impact on the world.
