About the Financial Award
Established in 2023, the Marathon Scholarship is available to full-time undergraduates from the School of Computing and Information Systems and the Lee Kong Chian School of Business at the Singapore Management University. It aims to motivate deserving undergraduates, with demonstrated financial needs, to achieve academic excellence and to accord appropriate recognition to the recipient for his/her accomplishments.
Eligibility Criteria
- Full-time first-year undergraduates from the School of Computing and Information Systems (priority consideration) and the Lee Kong Chian School of Business
- Singapore Citizens
- Good academic results
- Have demonstrated evidence of family household income (with gross monthly per capita income in accordance with prevailing income thresholds to qualify for bursaries)
Benefits
- $15,000 per annum (towards subsidised tuition fees and study-related expenses)
- Tenable for up to 4 years of the recipient’s academic studies, subject to continued observance of the eligibility criteria and the terms and conditions of award.
- May be in concurrent receipt of a bursary for cash allowance, subject to fulfilment of its eligibility criteria.
Application
Admissions Applicants
Applicants interested to be considered for this scholarship are to indicate interest in the Scholarship section of the online application form for admission. There is no separate scholarship application form.
Special consideration for this scholarship will be given to applicants with demonstrated financial needs. Applicants must also submit a separate financial aid application. This can be done via Applicant’s Self Service, after submitting the online application for admission. Prospective applicants may submit their financial aid application when it opens for its annual exercise from 1 January to 31 May.

About the Donor
The donor has had an extensive and successful career in the finance industry for over 20 years. Throughout his career, he has always believed in giving back, and regularly supports causes close to his heart. He considers that education is a powerful tool to bridge societal gaps and inequalities, and hopes that this Scholarship will provide the financial assistance required to enable students to focus, as well as thrive in their academic pursuits and ultimately pave the way forward toward a more inclusive society.
