About The Scholarship
Established in 2017 and funded by the proceeds of an endowed S$8 million contribution, the Quantedge Foundation Scholarship supports deserving Singaporeans of demonstrated financial needs at the Singapore Management University. Each year, this scholarship is expected to fund about 20 to 25 undergraduate recipients, in perpetuity. It funds recipients’ remaining annual subsidised tuition fees payable, after taking into account other financial assistance awarded by the Singapore Government.

Eligibility Criteria
- Enrolled as Year 1 Full time undergraduates of the University
- Must be a Singaporean
- Must stay in HDB flat that is no larger than a 4-room type HDB flat
- Must be part of a family that has monthly per capita income of not more than $750
- Maintain minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 to maintain the Scholarship
- Family must not own any private property in Singapore or outside of Singapore
Benefits
$6,400 per year (for Law students) towards subsidised tuition fee
or $5,200 per year (for non-Law students) towards subsidised tuition fee
- $1,500 per year (cash allowance) to pursue global exposure opportunities
- The duration of each scholarship is up to four (4) academic years, provided that all criteria set out above are met at each annual review.
- No bond is required of the recipients
Recipients may not concurrently receive any additional funding that goes towards covering their tuition fees (excluding student loans). However, recipients may apply for funding that goes towards covering other expenses (such as living expenses, costs relating to participation in local/overseas student programmes).

Shortlisting of candidates for consideration will be from the list of applicants applying for SMU-administered bursaries in the year of award.
About the Donor
Quantedge Foundation is a philanthropic foundation established by the principals of Quantedge Capital in 2015. It is registered as a Charity and has been an Institution of Public Character in Singapore since February 2016.
The Foundation aims to deliver impactful solutions to social issues and challenges in Singapore by focusing on areas where the Foundation can achieve the largest amount of social good per dollar spent. As such, it has a broad range of charitable objects including the relief of poverty and the advancement of education, with a specific focus on Singapore.
