About the Financial Award

Established in 2011, the Tan Joo Kee Study Award aims to provide financial assistance and to motivate full-time undergraduates in any degree programme at the Singapore Management University to achieve all-round excellence.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Full-time first year undergraduates enrolled in any degree programme
  • Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
  • Good academic results
  • With demonstrated financial needs
  • Preference for students with active CCA or community involvement with proven leadership qualities

Benefits

  • $3,000 per annum (towards subsidised tuition fees)
  • Tenable for up to four years of study, subject to the recipient’s continued observance of the eligibility criteria and the terms and conditions of award.
  • May be in concurrent receipt of a bursary for cash allowance, subject to fulfilment of its eligibility criteria

Application

Shortlisting of candidates for consideration will be from the list of applicants applying for SMU-administered bursaries in the year of award.

About the Donor

The Tan Joo Kee Study Award is a bursary trust founded by the late Tan Joo Kee and was registered as a charity under the Singapore Charities Act, Cap 37, in 1991. It provides bursaries to students in institutions of tertiary education in Singapore.
