About the Donor
This Bursary has been established by the family of the late Mr Ganpat Singhvi - in his honor, fond memory, and to continue his legacy of commitment to education.
From modest beginnings in the blue city of Jodhpur in India, Mr Singhvi spent over 40 years as a professional in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) building an illustrious career and reputation across the business community, as well as the broader Indian and UAE societies. His integrity and work ethics, combined with a humble persona and compassionate demeanor had earned Mr Singhvi immense respect and recognition across all communities.
He spent the last 39 years as a key contributor in the build-up of a respected conglomerate (Al Nasser Holdings) that today spans across multiple sectors in the Middle East - rising through the ranks to become Group Managing Director, and eventually a Board Member & Advisor to the new generation of shareholders. Mr Singhvi was also the Founding Member (and Chairman) of the Abu Dhabi Chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Founding Member of the Indian Business Professional Group (Abu Dhabi), and for over three decades a Board Member of the Abu Dhabi Indian School.
As the eldest amongst six siblings, with an extended family of over fifty, he was a patriarch who selflessly nurtured, cherished and loved every member of his family, young and old, alike. His smile, presence and passion for life are missed by his family and many more every day. Nevertheless, the principles and values he lived by continue to inspire and guide all he touched over the years - his eternal legacy.
