About the Award

Established in 2000, the Aw Kim Swee Financial Accounting Award is made possible from the proceeds of an endowed contribution by Mr Mick Aw.  The award is given annually to an outstanding graduating student in Bachelor of Accountancy from the School of Accountancy (SOA) at the Singapore Management University and is aimed at motivating the University's exceptional talent and spurring students to achieve greater heights of academic excellence.

The award will be presented at the SMU Commencement Ceremony (SOA Undergraduate Ceremony).

Eligibility Criteria

The award will be given annually to the top graduating Bachelor of Accountancy student with the highest GPA for the following Financial Accounting subjects:

  • ACCT111 Financial Accounting
  • ACCT224 Financial Reporting & Analysis
  • ACCT334 Intermediate Financial Accounting
  • ACCT335 Advanced Financial Accounting

The award will only be given if there is a candidate of sufficient merit.

About the Donor

The Aw Kim Swee Financial Accounting Award is set up by Mr Mick Aw, in honour of Mdm Tan Gim Tee (Mrs Aw Kim Swee).  Mr Mick Aw, the Managing Partner of Moore Stephens LLP Singapore, a strong supporter of SMU, also initiated the Mdm Tan Gim Tee (Mrs Aw Kim Swee) Scholarship and the Moore Stephens Scholarship.
