“I was drawn to SMU’s culture of openness, balance between work and play, and holistic growth. SMU definitely carried a sense of pragmatism and adaptability to the evolving world, which gave me confidence that I would be well prepared with an education here.”

Have you had any international experiences at SMU so far?

I plan to go for my international exchange in 2023, with Canada and Australia as strong candidates! I look forward to experiencing an education abroad and gaining a global perspective, making new friends and exploring another side of the world from a physical and cultural standpoint.

Please share your internship experience.

I have done several internships, the most recent of which was at GovTech over the summer. I was a software engineer intern and got to work on projects that improved the operational security and workflow of different target groups at the organisation. It was an eye-opening experience working in a large government organisation, putting my domain knowledge to practical use, and having fruitful collaborations with others all in a neat 10-week package.
