About The Scholarship

The ESR Group Scholarship was established in 2009.

The scholarship has been providing financial support to outstanding full-time undergraduate students from the Lee Kong Chian School of Business, the School of Accountancy, and the School of Economics at the Singapore Management University in achieving higher excellence in their studies. The objective of this scholarship is to support undergraduates with demonstrated financial needs, to achieve academic excellence and to accord appropriate recognition to the recipients of the scholarship for their accomplishments.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Full-time SMU undergraduates enrolled in the Lee Kong Chian School of Business, School of Accountancy or School of Economics
  • Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents
  • Good academic achievements (minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00)
  • Demonstrated leadership potential
  • Special consideration for those with demonstrated financial needs

Benefits

  • $10,000 per annum (towards subsidised tuition fees and study-related expenses)
  • Tenable for up to 4 years of the recipient’s academic studies, subject to continued observance of the eligibility criteria and the terms and conditions of award.

Learning and Development Opportunities

  • Recipients may be offered internship and/or career opportunities by ESR Group under mutually agreed terms, but acceptance of these opportunities is not required.
  • Year 2 and Year 3 recipients are expected to hold leadership positions in the ESR Group Scholars and Alumni Network Committee.

If you would like to be considered for this scholarship, please indicate your interest in the Scholarship section of the online application form for admission. There is no separate scholarship application form. 

Special consideration for this scholarship will be given to applicants with demonstrated financial needs. Applicants must also submit a separate financial aid application. This can be done via Applicant’s Self Service, after submitting the online application for admission. Prospective applicants may submit their financial aid application when it opens for its annual exercise from 1 January to 31 May.
