About the Award
Established in 2000 by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), the IHRP National HR Young Talent Award is aimed at motivating the University's exceptional talent in the Lee Kong Chian School of Business (LKCSB) at the Singapore Management University, and spurring the students to achieve greater heights of academic excellence and fostering a passion for HR.
From 2019, the Institute for Human Resource Professionals (IHRP) has been appointed as the Programme Manager for the award under the National HR Young Talent Award initiative by the MOM. The initiative aims to build Singapore’s local HR talent pool by spurring talented students to greater heights of excellence and to encourage them to pursue a career in the HR profession.
The award will be presented at the SMU Commencement Ceremony (LKCSB Undergraduate Ceremony).
Eligibility Criteria
The award will be given to the most deserving Bachelor of Business Management graduating student with a major in Organisational Behaviour and Human Resources who meets the following eligibility criteria:
- Academic Performance – Demonstrated through academic excellence in HR modules.
- Commitment to HR – Demonstrated through leadership or participation in HR societies, clubs and/or competitions, eg, National HR case competition.
- Good Performance in a Work Setting – Demonstrated through a good testimonial from project/ internship/part-time experience related to a HR role.
The award will only be given if there is a candidate of sufficient merit.

- Interview with the Programme Manager is required of nominees.
