About the Financial Award
The SMU Alumni Association Scholarship is available to financially needy undergraduates studying full-time at the Singapore Management University.
Eligibility Criteria
- Full-time SMU undergraduates of any nationality
- Proceeding to the third or final year of studies in the year of the award
- Good academic results (minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00) and communications skills
- Good leadership skills and character records
- Active involvement in CCA and/or community service
- Possess attributes of perseverance and passion
- Preference will be given to students with financial needs (not exceeding the gross monthly household per capita income in accordance with the prevailing income level for government-funded bursaries)
Benefits
- $8,000 per annum (towards subsidised tuition fees)
- Tenable for one year of study
Conditions of Award
- To be considered for the scholarship, you are required to answer the following questions (Maximum 500 words in total)
(i) Highlight special skills, interests, past experiences that would make you suitable to take on this scholarship.
(ii) What is successful alumni engagement to you? What do you think we need to do in SMU to foster greater alumni engagement?
(iii) What would you like to learn or develop in as an SMUAA scholar?
(iv) How do you plan to contribute back to SMUAA?
(v) Provide any examples for any interesting projects you did to give back to the community.
- Singaporean students may be in concurrent receipt of a government bursary, subject to fulfilment of its eligibility criteria
- The Recipient must not hold any other awards of similar nature during the tenure of the Award, except with the prior written approval of the University
