About the Financial Award

Established in 2016, the Scholarship is available to full-time undergraduates at the Singapore Management University.  It aims to broaden the recipient’s understanding of the Finance industry and ultimately help in career advancement.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Full-time undergraduates proceeding to third year of study
  • Any nationalities
  • Enrolled in any degree programme with Finance as one declared major or to be declared by the second year of study.
  • With good academic results (minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00), including attainment of minimum A- grade for core Finance modules, namely Financial Accounting and Finance 101.
  • Demonstrated financial needs with gross monthly household per capita income not exceeding $2,000.

Benefits

  • $13,333 per annum (towards subsidised tuition fees and/ or study-related expenses)
  • Tenable for one year of study
  • Singaporean students may apply for government bursary for cash allowance, subject to fulfilment of its eligibility criteria
  • The recipient will be offered mentorship by the Donors.

About the Donor

SMU Alumnus Finance Mentoring Scholarship is supported by a group of SMU alumni who would like to pay it forward and make a difference to aspiring Finance graduates.  The recipient would have privileged access, in the form of a mentoring programme to the alumni group which comprises individuals with a wide range of experience across investment banking, private equity, sovereign wealth funds, mutual funds, hedge funds, real estate and commodities trading houses.
