About the Financial Award

Established in 2017, the SMU Entrepreneur Endowed Scholarship is available to full-time undergraduates at the Singapore Management University.  It aims to provide financial assistance to needy undergraduates during their course of study at the University.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Full-time undergraduates enrolled in any degree programme
  • Any nationality
  • Good academic results (minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00) and student life activities
  • With demonstrable financial needs (gross monthly household per capita income not exceeding $2,500). Gross monthly household per capita income may be revised in accordance with prevailing guidelines to qualify for government bursaries

Benefits

  • $15,000 per annum (towards subsidised tuition fees)
  • Tenable for one year of study

Conditions of Award

  • The applicant must submit a short essay relating to:
    • Personal experience that shaped his/her life values/benefits, and
    • Past/Current experience at entrepreneurship or entrepreneurship aspirations
  • The Recipients should believe in the notion of paying-it-forward and contributing back to SMU as alumni in the future
  • Singaporean students may be in concurrent receipt of a government bursary, subject to fulfilment of its eligibility criteria
  • The Recipient must not hold any other awards of similar nature during the tenure of the Award, except with the prior written approval of the University

About the Donor

The SMU Entrepreneur Endowed Scholarship is jointly established by two alumnus from SMU.  Both individuals are currently managing their own investments and believes in the spirit of paying it forward, they hope to build a community of scholars who will also be inspired to give back in their own ways.
