“I love SMU’s pedagogy and emphasis on global exposure. I have also always wanted an international outlook and I think programmes such as the International Student Exchange, Study Missions and Overseas Summer Schools and Internships make that possible. SMU makes it very easy to participate in all these things.”

Have you had any international experiences at SMU so far?

My first key highlight is the Oxford International Intellectual Property Moot Competition 2022. I participated in this international moot as part of the Ian R. Taylor International Moots Programme in SMU. The university paid for our week-long trip to Oxford as we participated in the moot. There, we competed against many international teams and made even more friends from Germany, India, Hong Kong, Australia and UK.

How has your SMU scholarship benefitted you so far?

The Lee Kong Chian Scholarship Programme organises many enriching experiences for its Scholars. Project Neora XI is an outstanding example of the global opportunities LKCSP offers. Besides that, the Programme also organises study trips annually to analyse and gain industry exposure overseas!

What is your favourite food to get on campus?

Triplet’s Waffles.

What is the one thing you wish more people knew about SMU?

SMU has chartered significant progress as a young school. It is on an upward trajectory to outshine its long-standing competitors. For instance, with just 10 years, SMU has already clinched 102 podium finishes in International Moots all around the world (as of August 2021), beating its counterpart local law school in every competition it has participated in.
