“I did a lot of research when I was choosing which university to attend in Singapore. I am an extroverted person, so I prefer a more engaging and interactive teaching style wherein students can express their opinions freely in class and discuss questions with professors on the spot. This is what SMU does very well.”

Please share a highlight of your student life at SMU so far.

It would be having the chance to join SMU INTERNATIONAL CONNECTIONS (ICON), which is a student body that strives to cultivate a familial culture in SMU by integrating all members of the SMU community. I have forged meaningful friendships by participating in the ICON Camp, in addition to honing my leadership skills.

What is the most “Singaporean” habit you’ve picked up?

I tend to speak more and more Singlish unconsciously. Sometimes, even the locals don’t believe that I am actually an international student.

Any advice for other international students who are thinking of applying to SMU?

SMU provides me with a lot of opportunities to explore where my passion lies and what kind of person I would like to be. Having made so many friends here, SMU is a home away from home for me. Hope to see you on campus one day!
