“SMU has given me the opportunities to work with industry partners to solve real-world problems and represent the school in competitions and conferences. The multifaceted education has broadened my knowledge and made me more career-ready.”

Please share your internship experience.

I worked at GovTech when I was in Year 2 and managed to apply what I have learnt from SMU and expand my learning beyond the classroom. The internship gave me the opportunity to be part of a development team with other full-timers, which allowed me to immerse myself in the day-to-day operations of the working world. The internship also gave me the avenue to work on open-source projects and collaborate with big tech firms like GitHub and GitLab.

What is your favourite food to get on campus?

I really like the Thai stall at Connexion, particularly their Pad Thai and milk tea. I also like Wolfrik’s Pizzeria with their Neapolitan-style pizza.

A fun fact about SMU

I heard that Campus Green wasn’t all green previously. It used to have real grass and soil which would turn muddy whenever it rained. Now, it has been completely rejuvenated - students and even the public enjoy having picnics and walking their dogs at Campus Green.
