How has SMU transformed you and equipped you with the skillset to thrive in your current career?
SMU opened my eyes to possibilities, and it was during my time in SMU when I truly realized that I could make a lot of things happen with creativity and resourcefulness. We enjoyed a fair amount of autonomy and challenged one another to think in new ways, explore new areas, come to our own original, unconventional conclusions and create new things. The learning experience and foundations I had with SMU, I believe, prepared me well in my current career.
What is your fondest memory of your time at SMU?
I co-founded the International Relations Club in my 1st year at SMU, which has evolved into SMU International Connections (ICON) today. A small group of us worked closely with the Office of International Relations to welcome the first batch of international students to SMU, organized local and regional trips and other opportunities for international and local students to forge long-lasting relationships. It is very heartening to see that the club still stands today and is now even bigger and more impactful.
If you had to start college all over again, what would you do differently?
Looking back, I think I made the most out of my time at SMU - I seized every opportunity to do something different, prove myself and had a great time with my schoolmates.
