About the Financial Award
Established in 2024, the Siang Lang and Kai Hee Tan Accountancy Scholarship, supported by Mr. Tan Hanjie Nicholas, is aimed at helping high potential students from the School of Accountancy to achieve academic excellence and build a strong foundation for success. This scholarship is established in honour of Nicholas’ parents, Siang Lang and Kai Hee, whose dedication and support inspired him to create this opportunity for others. Recipients are also encouraged to pay it forward by supporting others in their educational journeys, continuing the spirit of generosity and support exemplified by his parents.
Eligibility Criteria
- Singapore Citizen.
- Full-time undergraduate enrolled at SOA.
- Proceeding to Year 2 in the year of award.
- Good academic results with minimum CGPA of 3.0 in line with prevailing University guidelines.
- Demonstrated financial need in line with MOE’s prevailing criteria (may be periodically revised).
Benefits
- $12,000 per annum (towards subsidised tuition fees)
- Tenable for one year of study
- The recipients may apply for government bursary, subject to fulfilment of its eligibility criteria

About the Donor
Mr. Tan Hanjie Nicholas is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Bayfront Infrastructure Management, which is part of the Clifford Capital group. He is also the Group Head of Markets & Investors Services at Clifford Capital and a member of the Group Executive Committee.
Before Clifford Capital, he was with Bank of America Merrill Lynch, covering the energy, infrastructure, power and utilities sectors for the investment banking division, where he led in origination and execution of debt and equity capital markets and M&A transactions for Southeast Asia. He was previously in investment banking with Standard Chartered Bank, covering the Asia mining and metals sector.
Nicholas graduated from SMU in 2008 with a Bachelor of Accountancy and Bachelor of Business Management (Summa Cum Laude).
