About the Financial Award

Established in 2020, the Stanley Yap & Karen Wang Student Relief Grant is a one-off emergency financial grant to support full-time undergraduates at the Singapore Management University who are in need of immediate financial assistance due to unforeseen crisis (resulting in financial hardship), while their families seek for long-term solutions to meet their financial needs.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Full time undergraduates enrolled in any degree programme
  • Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
  • Demonstrate in dire need of financial assistance due to an unforeseen financial crisis
  • Priority will be given to:
    • Students who are working part-time to finance their school fees or daily expenses; and
    • Students with demonstrated evidence of family household income (with gross monthly household per capita income in accordance with prevailing guidelines to qualify for government bursaries)
    • Students with verified per capita income (PCI) and/or Gross Household Income (GHI)

Benefits

  • From $1,000 (subject to the level of financial hardship and need of the student)
  • Tenable for one year of study

Conditions of Award

  • The Recipient must submit a bursary application to validate their household income
  • The applicant may receive the grant only once during a single academic year
  • The same applicant cannot be awarded the grant more than once for the same reason
