About the Donor

SMU alumna Stephanie Yeo graduated from the Yong Pung How School of Law and is currently a Partner in the Restructuring & Insolvency and Special Situations Advisory Practices at WongPartnership, focusing on formal and out-of-court cross-border restructurings.

Recognised as a Rising Star for restructuring and insolvency at the IFLR Rising Stars Awards Asia-Pacific 2022, Stephanie was featured in Global Restructuring Review's 40 under 40 list that highlights the next generation of accomplished cross-border restructuring and insolvency specialists globally. She has also been described as a “generational talent” and a “lawyer who is skilled beyond her years” in publications such as The Legal 500: Asia Pacific and Chambers Asia-Pacific.

During her time in SMU, Stephanie participated in various international moot competitions including the International Law Moot Court Competition “Asia Cup” in Japan and the William C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Vienna.

Stephanie credits her accomplishments to her alma mater and would like to pay it forward by supporting other female law students at SMU. She hopes that the Stephanie Yeo Scholarship will give a bright, deserving individual facing financial hardships access to the well-rounded education that the Yong Pung How School of Law offers.
