I enjoy teaching because it allows me to draw on insights from research and share them with students in the classroom.

Why did you choose to join SMU?

I chose to join SMU because of its vibrant and dynamic atmosphere and reputation in the field.

Classes/Modules you currently teach and Research Areas of Interest

I currently teach Accounting Thought and Governance for the undergraduates and Financial Reporting in an IFRS World Part 1 for the master students. I am interested in why firms adopt certain disclosure policies and the capital market consequences of those polices. Currently, I’m working on a research project related to product recalls and how firms can improve their financial reporting credibility by proactively admitting mistakes in the product market.

What is one thing you wish more people knew about SMU?

That we are a leading research university with excellent professors that come from all over the world.

What is your favourite food on/around campus?

Too many! I love the bagelwiches and smoothies from Onalu, the healthy bowls from Kenboru, and the Thai food from Soi Aroy.
