President’s State of the University Address 2017

Team Singapore did extremely well at the recent S.E.A Games in Kuala Lumpur clinching fourth place with a total medal tally of 57 golds, 58 silvers and 73 bronzes.

Conferred one of the nation's highest honours for his outstanding contributions to Singapore in business, education and civil society

Aside from SMU Chairman, Mr Ho Kwon Ping, who has been given one of the nation's highest honours – the prestigious Distinguished Service Order award (read detailed story here), 11 SMU staff and faculty members have also been recognised via the 2017 National Day Awards for their outstanding performance and their commitment towards Singapore’s tertiary education sector.

Both the Society for Personality and Social Psychology (SPSP) and the American Psychological Association Division of Personality and Social Psychology (APA Division 8) have conferred the prestigious award of Fellow status to Professor David Chan (陈振中教授), Director of the Behavioural Sciences Institute (行为科学研究院院长) and Professor of Psychology of the Singapore Management University (SMU) (新加坡管理大学) for his outstanding contributions in the fields of personality and social psychology.

SMU's Team Viride comprising Amelia See (Business Year 2), Michelle Ann Lim (Business Year 2), Ng Rui Qin (Information Systems Year 1) and Lim Yi Chang (Accountancy Year 1) has won the top prize for the City Developments Limited (CDL)-Global Compact Network Singapore (GCNS) Young CSR Leaders Award 2017.

SMU’s Eurhythmix (hip-hop dance) club has clinched first runner-up in the tertiary category at the Super 24 Dance Competition held at the Suntec Convention Centre on 6 August 2017.
